Levune

There is probably no historical model for this role in Marlowe’s Edward II. Levune is an envoy from the French court who first brings the news that the French king has occupied Normandy because Edward II has not taken the required oath of fealty. Afterwards, Spencer sends him back to foil Isabella’s plans at her brother’s court.
